Eric Chu, DMD, MBE, is an associate dentist here at Newton Street Dental. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, he attended Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, where he earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree, Magna Cum Laude. He has also received his master’s degree from Harvard Medical School, focusing on clinical bioethics in the context of patient hospitality and practice management.

Dr. Chu has had a passion for helping people for as long as he can remember, which is evident to every patient as soon as they meet him, thanks to his enthusiasm. His drive to provide the highest-quality dental care has led him to take numerous continuing education courses at world-renowned institutions like Kois Center and Spear Education over the years, helping him to have advanced training in restorative and cosmetic dentistry and gain abundant experience in same-day crowns with CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/manufacturing) dentistry. He is an Invisalign-certified provider and also remains active in the local and national dental community as a member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, Valley District Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Originally from Seoul, South Korea, he moved to the U.S. at a young age to continue his education. He is fluent in both Korean and English and has a cross-cultural competency that enables him to faithfully serve our diverse variety of patients. He enjoys spending his free time with his family and seeking out good food. An avid soccer fan, he’s always eager to talk about the sport and can give you an answer to any question you might have!
